The static electricity in the printing industry will be very large, mainly because the static electricity carried by the object itself is increased and accumulated after printing (multiple frictions).
The harm of static electricity to the printing industry is mainly in two aspects: vacuuming and crosstalk.
For the printing industry process, the process of removing static electricity is mainly divided into the following three parts,
1 is the deelectrostatic treatment of semi-finished products before printing.
2 is the control of electrostatic increase and accumulation in the printing process,
3 is the electrostatic exclusion in the division and storage of the finished product after printing.
The following is a simple description of the electrostatic treatment methods and causes and hazards of the three problems just mentioned:
1. Why eliminate static electricity before printing?
For the printing industry, their main substrate materials are plastic and paper, etc., and these materials themselves will carry strong static electricity and are insulators that should not direct the static electricity itself to other media. Therefore, once there is static electricity, it is easy to accumulate static electricity so that the substrate adsorbs each other and should not be stripped into the printing press in turn. Therefore, it is necessary to remove static electricity from the surface of the substrate before printing. In this link, there are two main ways to remove static electricity :1. Increase the conductivity of the material itself, but the service life is short and the cost is high.2. That is, first of all, dust removal and electrostatic removal are carried out at the same time when taking the substrate, to ensure that the substrate can be smoothly stripped off in turn into the printing press, and then the electrostatic removal action is carried out again at the paper inlet of the printing press to ensure that the substrate itself does not have static electricity before printing to ensure that there is no cross-color phenomenon in the printing process.
2. Since the static electricity of the object to be eliminated has been ensured before printing, why is it still removed in the printing process?
Because the main printing process in the domestic market is divided into embossing, offset and screen printing three kinds. Their printing process has to produce a lot of friction. So that the static electricity on the surface of the object will be much higher and if the static electricity is not well controlled during printing, it is easy to cause electrostatic ink and cross-color phenomenon on the print. And in the printing process due to high-speed friction, stripping will produce static electricity and the accumulation of static electricity is easy to lead to air discharge, resulting in electric shock or fire. So how can we well control the generation and elimination of static electricity in the printing process? It is necessary to ensure that the substrate has no static electricity before contact with the touch plate and that there is no static electricity on the surface of the printed matter after the finished product. This process is very tedious, in short, to ensure that there are absolutely enough positive and negative ions in the printing process to give the object to be eliminated.
3. Why should the finished print eliminate static electricity?
This problem is simply to prevent the finished print from being neatly placed and stored after segmentation. The solution is to install anti-static equipment when dividing.
Another point that needs special attention is:
Because most of the manufacturers of electrostatic equipment use cutting-edge discharge methods to eliminate the generation and elimination of static electricity.
The way it works is that a high voltage generator generates a high voltage and then ionizes the molecules in the air into positive and negative ions through a discharge electrode. To neutralize ions on the surface. (By the way, the so-called static electricity refers to the local positive and negative ions caused by inequality.)
Therefore, as long as a conductor comes into contact with the discharge electrode, there will be a spark phenomenon. Once the ignition phenomenon encounters flammable and violent objects, it will lead to unnecessary industrial accidents.
However, in the modern printing industry, some printing must use some flammable and violent auxiliary materials, so it is particularly important to pay attention to that if manufacturers of flammable and violent materials are to be used, they must not use cutting-edge discharge electrostatic equipment.
